Baton Rouge, LA – Over the past 15 months since officially launching its flagship Technical Assistance Program (TAP), the Louisiana Infrastructure Technical Assistance Corporation (LITACorp) has engaged with 114 local governments across Louisiana to apply for nearly $228 million in federal infrastructure grants funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), otherwise known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). In the coming months, LITACorp will submit 11 additional grant applications representing more than $19 million in total requests for various infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water and sewer systems.

To date, nine local governments have already received $12,145,000 in federal awards with the help of LITACorp, including:

“I am so proud of what we have been able to accomplish in a little more than a year,” said Leslie Durham, Executive Director of LITACorp. “More than a third of the communities we have served have not applied for a federal grant before, but through LITACorp’s assistance, these same communities are now competing for and receiving federal awards. Our ability to serve these communities would not be possible without the partnership and support of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana, Louisiana Municipal Association, Louisiana State Legislature, and Governor Jeff Landry.”

LITACorp’s TAP and Matching Funds Grant Program (MFGP) were seeded by the Louisiana State Legislature during the 2022 Regular Session to help rural and economically distressed communities access federal grant dollars under IIJA/BIL by providing grant writing services and local match to Louisiana municipalities and parishes. As of November 2024, LITACorp has secured $3.73 in federal grant funding for every dollar of state funding invested into LITACorp.

Louisiana communities interested in receiving technical assistance can submit a Letter of Interest to LITACorp at www.LITACorp.org
